THE BEST CHEESE TASTING and TOUR OF THE AREA
Sunday morning we have been to Az Agricola il Podere, in Val d’Orcia (this is the Valley protected by Unesco). We did the long farm tour and we are enthusiastic about the great hospitality and the organic products we have tasted. (remeber to boy some pasta, cheese before going home, you can easly feel homesick!!!)

TASTING OF THE CHEESES PRODUCED IN THE FARM’S DAIRY Outline: - Explanations from the owners as to how the famous Italian cheeses pecorino, caprino and ricotta are made. - Tour of the farm with a short visit of the dairy and of the views looking over the Orcia Valley. - Tasting and explanations of the various types of sampled cheeses. - Duration: from one hour to two depending on the curiousity of the guests.
DAIRY VISIT - ON REQUEST, if the group is bigger than 5 people, they can give a practical cheese production demonstration. - As part of the cheese tasting session is included a glass of home produced red wine, one per person. - The owners speak fluently three languages: GERMAN, ENGLISH and FRENCH - There is also the possibility for guests to purchase our ORGANIC products on site, which are : Cheese, Wine, Olive Oil, Pasta and Honey.
RESTAURANT At the farm restaurant uses exclusively organic or locally sourced products.We have tasted it and we can say that it is really deliciuous!!!! Moreover in season you can seat in the garden outside with an incredible panorama on the Val D’Orcia Hills!

GROUP MENUS - Proposal 1 “light lunch with pasta dish” - Varied salad according to the season - Selection of cold meats from the region of Siena - Range of cheeses (sheep & goat) of local production - Cooked vegetables (for example swiss chard, spinach) - Hard grain / spelt / chestnut pasta with ricotta or tomatoes and basil - Homemade dessert - Proposal 2 “simple light lunch” - The same as “Proposal 1” only without the selection of cold meats - Proposal 3 “tasting” - Salad and seasonal vegetables - Sampling of cheeses from our own production (goat and sheep) - Homemade dessert
