Restaurant in Orvieto

Trattoria Dell Orso, Orvieto, Umbria.

For Tripadvisor this restaurant is the n. 26 on 92 restaurants in Orvieto, for us is one of the best restaurant of Umbria !!!

If are a foodie like us and if you visit Orvieto, do not miss a lunch at Trattoria dell’Orso, in via della Misericordia 18. Less than 5 minutes walk from Piazza della Repubblica.

Tel. +39 0763 341642 (better to book it before going) During bank holidays it may be closed and also on Wendsday.

Ciro and Gabriele, the owners are very friendly and ready to help you with the local unique menu that change with seasons.  If you stay with us at Fontanaro, you can give them our name!

If you like the Umbrian touch interiors, after lunch you may like to shop at Michelangeli Interior design from where most of the restaurants decorations come from.

Here is a review from a great friend!

“This restaurant in Orvieto is warm, inviting, delicious and well worth a visit. The hosts are very welcoming, interesting people and speak great English. After lunch they came and chatted at our table.   The food is simple, rustic rather than fancy, mostly seasonal and absolutely delicious! For primo I had an artichoke pasta that was fabulous, secondi was perfectly cooked beef with balsamic jus and a side salad of greens that was flavorful with a hint of heat to spice things up, and finally the chocolate mousse for dessert was the best I’ve ever eaten in my entire life!! I would highly recommend lunch here when you are in Orvieto. In my opinion, (together with the Duomo) it is the highlight of the town, really the best restaurant in Orvieto

Best Parking in Orvieto.

A free parking is situated at the Train station, if you like to reach the city by the funicular. (One each 10 or 15 minutes)

Also a good parking is at Piazza del Popolo or Piazza della Pace (at Piazza del Popolo not on Saturday morning because there is the weekly street market). Anyway there are a lot of parking, signed with a blue and white P.

Remember that if you park where are blu strips, you have to pay the parking with coins.
